As a Product Designer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, spearheading the design and development of innovative industrial products. You’ll be involved in the entire product journey, from initial brainstorming and 3D modeling to collaborating with toolmakers and overseeing product testing. Your expertise will ensure products meet the highest standards of functionality, durability, and market appeal. What You’ll Do:
- Conceptualize and design innovative new products, translating ideas into tangible designs.
- Conduct early-stage research and gather insights to guide product development.
- Create and refine 3D CAD models for new and existing products using software like Autodesk Inventor.
- Design intricate product assemblies, considering function, manufacturability, and durability.
- Adhere to detailed design specifications and project requirements, ensuring precision and quality.
- Design tooling for new products and modifications, collaborating with internal and external toolmakers.
- Oversee product development projects from concept to launch, collaborating with the R&D Manager.
- Develop prototypes, ranging from small-scale samples to full-scale functional models.
- Conduct product testing and validation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Prepare product release documentation and coordinate launch activities, ensuring a smooth market entry.
- Provide technical support and drawings to various departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Must-Haves:
- Degree in Product Design or a related field.
- 5+ years of product design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or similar).
- Experience with plastic molding processes (rotational, injection, etc.).
- Strong communication, project management, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with roto-molded product development.
- Knowledge of tooling design and construction.
