Aquent Core 4 Values

DATE: 15 May, 2020

I joined Aquent almost eight years ago now for a number of reasons, but namely it was a great next step in my career, a chance at a better work-life balance and re-joining an industry I missed working with. Looking back though it really came down to the culture fit. Quite simply, I shared the same values that Aquent did. Sure the role was suited to my skills and experience but it was the demonstrated company values that I bought into when joining and that continue to support me and the team, especially during times of change.

Developed in 1990 by our CEO John Chuang, and the Executive Management Team, four themes anchor the foundations of Aquent. These values help us all on the team to navigate strategy, actions, conversations & conflicts.

These are our Core 4 values at Aquent:

1) Our people management skills make the difference.

We are all managers with an entrepreneurial culture that gives autonomy but requires drive and personal accountability: we manage ourselves & know that our decisions impact our growth.

2) Holism.

A holistic perspective is always needed. All of our actions interrelate. From sharing Talent, to asking for help or pitching in to solve a problem. We're all responsible for the improvements & success across the company. Idea’s & solutions come from everyone.

3) The relentless pursuit of Customer Value.

The purpose of our actions is to satisfy consumer needs. We will not waste time on matters that do not create consumer value directly or build capabilities that create value in the future. Through continually meeting consumer needs, our Company will realize long-term benefits. Our goal is to not be good, but to be better. The rate of improvement over time is more important than a snapshot of success.

4) Improve through Continuous Learning

Continual learning strategies and improvement drives the organization and the individual. Experimentation, creative problem solving, and knowledge transfer. We endeavor to keep the learning experiences high and the challenges great. We will make mistakes, but will always learn from them and from each other.

The unprecedented challenges we face today provide an opportunity to connect with others and reaffirm our principles. 30 years of holism, customer centricity, excellent leadership & life-long-learning means our values & beliefs are more important than ever. I’m proud to be part of an industry that at its core, connects people and I firmly believe that every connection & conversation we have, has the potential to make an impact that can benefit others.

“Your personal core values define who you are, and a company's core values ultimately define the company's character and brand. For individuals, character is destiny. For organizations, culture is destiny.”
