We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join a dynamic product team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in defining complex problems, developing sophisticated machine learning models, and leading initiatives that directly create value for customers. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement and innovation within a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate closely with a diverse product team, including fellow Data Scientists, Data Analysts, ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and UX Designers, to define critical business problems.
• Design and build advanced machine learning models that generate tangible value and enhance the customer experience.
• Apply your deep expertise in recommendation systems to analyze vast datasets, uncover meaningful patterns, and develop innovative solutions.
• Lead A/B testing initiatives from conception to execution, rigorously evaluating the performance of various ML models and iterating for continuous improvement.
• Drive the end-to-end machine learning flow, from ideation and development to successful deployment in production environments.

This is a full-time 6-months-long salaried position, with option to extend. 

Due to the contracting nature of this role, only candidates with the unrestricted right to work in The Netherlands will be considered.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• A strong foundational grasp of statistics and the mathematical principles underpinning machine learning theories.
• Min. 7 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions in a production environment.
• Comprehensive understanding of machine learning fundamentals and deep learning concepts.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python.
• A solid grasp of data manipulation techniques using SQL.
• Proven track record of successfully deploying machine learning models into production and a thorough understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle.
• Deep understanding of A/B testing methodologies and their inherent limitations.
• Work experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with recommendation systems, reinforcement learning, and learn-to-rank algorithms.
