This organization’s Marketing Activation team plays a pivotal role in connecting marketing efforts to tangible business outcomes, providing advanced insights that drive performance optimization and inform future investment strategies. As a Marketing Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of this mission, directly shaping how marketing effectiveness is measured and understood, and translating complex data into strategic recommendations that influence global and local retail markets. Your expertise will be instrumental in evolving their analytical capabilities, whether by pioneering innovative measurement frameworks or by developing cutting-edge AI-driven solutions.
**Your Impact:**
You will be a key driver in advancing marketing performance measurement, bringing your analytical prowess to a team that values data-driven decision-making. This dynamic role offers the unique opportunity to either lead the development of a hybrid Media Mix Modelling (MMM) framework, empowering internal teams with advanced analytical capabilities, or to innovate with AI-driven analytical solutions and sophisticated Power BI dashboards. Your contributions will directly inform strategic marketing investments, ensuring maximum impact and efficiency across diverse markets.
This is a 6 months fixed term salaried position contracted via Aquent on behalf of our client as a third party. There is the possibility for extension.
Due to the contracting nature of this role, only candidates with unrestricted rights to work in The Netherlands will be considered.
This is primarily a remote/hybrid assignment. It would be nice to meet up with the team onsite, in Amsterdam, 1x per week (Monday).
**What You’ll Do:**
* Conduct advanced statistical analyses to rigorously assess marketing performance, channel contribution, and return on investment (ROI).
* Depending on strategic direction:
* If proceeding with advanced marketing measurement frameworks: Lead or significantly support the creation of a hybrid Media Mix Modelling framework and facilitate knowledge transfer to internal analysts.
* If focusing on broader analytical innovation: Build impactful Power BI dashboards, support AI-driven analytics initiatives (such as agentic chatbot development), and execute deeper statistical analyses across various marketing channels.
* Design and maintain robust data pipelines using dbt and manage analytical datasets within a cloud-based environment.
* Navigate complex and sometimes imperfect data sources, applying strong problem-solving skills and data-preparation techniques to ensure data integrity and usability.
* Translate intricate analytical results into clear, compelling insights, visualizations, and presentations tailored for non-technical stakeholders.
* Collaborate closely with fellow data analysts, data scientists, and product teams within the marketing domain to foster a culture of shared learning and innovation.
**What You’ll Bring:**
* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, specifically within a marketing performance or media measurement context.
* Proven expertise in advanced statistical analysis, including a solid understanding of probability, regression modeling, and hypothesis testing.
* Strong proficiency in SQL and dbt for efficient data transformation and pipeline development.
* Proficiency in Power BI, encompassing data modeling and DAX.
* Experience working with cloud-based analytical platforms, such as Google BigQuery or similar.
* Exceptional data storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable insights for diverse audiences.
**Desired Qualifications:**
* Hands-on experience with Media Mix Modelling (MMM) or other marketing attribution frameworks.
* Familiarity with Python for analytical scripting and statistical modeling.
* Experience in preparing data tables for AI-driven analytical solutions (e.g., chatbots or agentic AI systems).
* Experience working in an agile, cross-functional environment and managing large, complex data sets.
* A background in mentoring or training others in advanced analytics methods.
