If you’re a former educator or academic with a passion for clear communication and user-centered design—and you’re excited by the opportunity to shape learning tools for millions—this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with designers, researchers, and engineers to create content that supports user goals and educational outcomes.
  • Write, edit, and structure in-product content (tooltips, help text, error messages, onboarding flows) that aligns with best practices and educational principles.
  • Translate complex STEM concepts into user-friendly, age-appropriate language for learners, educators, and parents.
  • Conduct content audits and contribute to content style guides, tone guidelines, and taxonomy systems.
  • Apply inclusive design and accessibility principles to all written materials.
  • Provide domain expertise to help inform product decisions around curriculum, assessment, and learner pathways.
  • Review and revise educational content (questions, lessons, simulations) for accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical soundness.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM field, Education (with a STEM focus), Instructional Design, or a related discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of experience as a teacher, professor, or educator in K–12 or higher education, with a clear focus on STEM subjects.
  • Proven ability to write clear, engaging, and accessible content for digital platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on content writing and technical writing for edtech products.
  • Familiarity with curriculum standards (e.g., NGSS, Common Core, AP, IB, etc.)
  • Experience working with designers and engineers in agile environments.
  • Passion for helping learners succeed, particularly in STEM disciplines.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and working autonomously.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience as a retired educator or professor bringing real-world classroom insights into digital design.
  • Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma) and writing tools (e.g., Google Docs, CMS platforms).
  • Understanding of localization, accessibility (a11y), and inclusive content practices.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

  • Shape the future of digital learning experiences from a real educator’s perspective.
  • Work with a collaborative, mission-driven team that values clarity, empathy, and curiosity.
  • Empower learners and educators at scale with tools that are informed by real-world classroom experience.
